Applications

Turning trusted data into real-world results.

What is HASHTAG developing?

HASHTAG is developing the digital foundations for trusted, certified, and secure data in agriculture—ensuring every map, action, and dataset is accurate, traceable, and usable by farmers, machinery, and regulators.

The project’s core innovations include:

These are not stand-alone tools – they are integrated, field-tested solutions that work across technologies, platforms, and regions.

  • Trusted data pipelines from prescription maps to machine-executed logs
  • High-accuracy GNSS positioning using Galileo’s HAS and OSNMA
  • Certified Earth Observation (EO) workflows based on Copernicus data

How will these applications be used?

The HASHTAG solutions are designed to function directly within on-farm decision-making, compliance with the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and sustainability reporting. They aim to replace fragmented, unverifiable data with certified digital records that are ready for farmers, advisers, policy systems, and food supply chains.

  • Generating trusted prescription maps for fertilisation, spraying, or seeding
  • Ensuring machinery executes tasks at the right time and location, and logs activities
  • Producing certified as-applied maps for audit, documentation, or traceability
  • Preventing GNSS spoofing or manipulation in autonomous operations
  • Enabling machine-to-system data flows that meet public and private reporting standards

Key developments

High-Accuracy Navigation

By integrating Galileo HAS (High Accuracy Service) and OSNMA (Navigation Message Authentication) into GNSS receivers, HASHTAG ensures:

Centimetre-level positioning in the field
Authenticated geolocation data for autonomous machinery
Trusted execution logging for future automation and regulation
Protection against spoofing or signal manipulation

Earth Observation Certification

HASHTAG uses Copernicus Sentinel data to generate prescription maps through transparent, reproducible workflows. These maps:

• Include data lineage for environmental and compliance use
• Are aligned with best practices in EO and CAP
• Are digitally signed to support traceability and auditability

Trusted Data
Flows

HASHTAG is building secure, certified workflows from field planning to execution, ensuring that task maps and logs:

Follow recognised standards (ISOXML, Shapefile)
• Include metadata for time, location, and intent
Can be verified and certified across systems
• Support regulatory reporting and CAP compatibility

Focus Regions

HASHTAG’s applications are tested and validated across diverse agricultural settings:

These regions represent a spectrum of agri-tech readiness, regulation, and field realities – helping ensure HASHTAG solutions are scalable and adaptable.
