In early December 2025, Prague hosted EUSPA’s annual User Consultation Platform (UCP) and Downstream Day – two days bringing together satellite data experts, industry players, and policymakers to shape the future of Europe’s space applications. HASHTAG was there.
Our poster in the networking area sparked lively conversations: delegates stopped to discuss the project, the technology behind it, and the path toward real-world deployment. At the heart of those exchanges was a question central to HASHTAG’s mission: how do we know we can trust the data? Our team explained how both satellite navigation (GNSS) and Earth Observation (EO) data can be authenticated, and how that trust can be maintained all the way from satellite to end user.
Two themes dominated the discussions, and both sit squarely in HASHTAG’s wheelhouse:
- Regulatory compliance monitoring
As sustainability rules tighten across agriculture, farmers and authorities alike need reliable, verifiable proof that rules are being followed. GNSS and EO data can play a key role, but only if the data itself is trustworthy. The debate focused on what authentication, processing standards, and guarantees are needed to make that a reality.
- Autonomous farm machinery
Robots, drones, and self-driving tractors are no longer science fiction, but when a human is out of the loop (HOOTL), the stakes of a navigation error go up. Participants explored how high-accuracy, authenticated GNSS and EO data can safely guide and track autonomous machines in the field.
The UCP was a valuable opportunity to connect with the broader ecosystem of space data users and to show how HASHTAG’s work translates into tangible benefits – for farmers, for regulators, and for the agri-food sector as a whole.
