The HASHTAG project has been recognised in the EU Space Market Report, published in May 2026 by EUSPA, the European Union Agency for the Space Programme. The comprehensive annual publication maps the downstream markets for satellite navigation, Earth Observation, secure communications and space situational awareness across 16 sectors.
HASHTAG is highlighted in the “Agriculture” chapter – the sector that the report identifies as the largest single contributor to EO revenues, accounting for 21% of the global market in 2024, and one of the fastest-growing segments to 2034. The report notes that rising food demand, labour shortages, input costs and reporting obligations are accelerating the need for the kind of space-enabled efficiency gains that HASHTAG is contributing to.
The project is specifically cited as an example of how the EU Space Programme supports research and innovation in agriculture. The aim of HASHTAG to create a transparent and verifiable chain of data from satellite observation to on-field action is considered valuable.
The inclusion in the EU Space Market Report 2026 underlines the relevance of HASHTAG’s work to the broader European space economy, and its contribution to the goals of the EU Space Programme.
